In light of the recent announcement from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, that it plans to end the province-wide Slots at Racetracks program in March 2013, a series of videos were created to illustrate the wide range of people who will be dramatically affected by this decision. Horseman Anthony MacDonald of Guelph, Ont. is like many of the more than 60000 people involved directly or indirectly with horse racing in Ontario, individuals that make up the heartbeat of Ontario's vital and valuable industry. Finance Minister Dwight Duncan has been falsely referring to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Slots at Racetrack revenue sharing program as a subsidy. His claim is that the Government has been providing a $345 million annual subsidy to Ontario's Horse Racing Industry. In a recent fundraising email to supporters, the Ontario Liberal Party suggested that they are "choosing to support our youngest learners over wealthy race track owners". According to OLG's financial statements, the Government of Ontario is receiving $1.1 billion per year from the Slots at Racetracks Program. The horse racing industry, which has made space available to OLG slots and allowed competition between the slots and horse racing at their facilities, receives only 20% of the revenue from the slots. The KWPN approved stallion Pitcher S, who jumps the national competitions, is a full brother to Jourdette S. The same dam line also produced the international show jumper El Padrino (s. Jasper) and belongs to one of the best breeding lines in The Netherlands. Lupicor, in the top 1% of the German Breeding Indexes belongs to the best stallions in Europe and is sire to the 2006 KWPN stallion champion L'Esprit (Lupicor x Landgraf I). At the 2008 KWPN stallion approval Lupicor displayed once again a remarkable group of young stallions with great movements and superb jumping abilities. Lupicor's first offspring are already successful at various international show jumping levels. Chippawa River en Cantona Renka 22-12-2012 [09:02]
Chippawa vs Cantona 1-0 Voor het eerst samen op de baan. Althans waar we bij zijn om een filmpje van te maken. En woohoo wat ziet dat er al "echt uit" Nou ja, voor Chippawa dan... Cantona maakt de ene spring fout na de andere. Die had duidelijk zijn dag niet. Of zeg maar gerust zijn dag HELEMAAL niet. Chippawa heeft grote sprongen gemaakt in de goed zin van het woord. Die is heel erg goed vooruit gegaan. Ik vind het super mooi om te zien hoe zij haar best doet, en hoe het haar al weer een stuk makkelijker afgaat dan de vorige keer. Mooi ook om te zien nu ze zo naast elkaar lopen wat een enorm verschil in stijl ze hebben. Nu zie je pas goed hoe hoog Chippawa haar voorbenen optilt. Het is wel een vechtertje voor de kar, en zit pit genoeg in en ze geeft niet op! Maar om al aan het echte werk te gaan denken is voor haar toch nog te vroeg. Ze mist nog een hoop kracht. Cantona ging dus niet goed tijdens deze rit. Gelukkig vertelde Wim dat hij de werkjes die hij in de dagen na dit filmpje heeft gekregen wel heel goed heeft gedaan. Op naar de volgende filmpjes dan maar!
