Gary Seibel, a veteran harness racing broadcaster, has helped bring the sport to national prominence as television's premier and most recognized host and racing authority for two decades running. The 2012 edition of the Hambletonian marked his 20th consecutive year as either host or co-host of harness racing's most prestigious event, including a 13-year run on CBS and a 5-year stint with NBC. For more than a decade, he hosted network TV coverage of the Breeders Crown, harness racing's divisional championship series, and filled a similar role for the American Championship Harness Series back in the late 1990's. Seibel also has covered racing for ESPN, SportsChannel and Prime Network. He brought the sport of harness racing into the living rooms of fans across America on a daily basis from 1999 through 2011 as a host and racing analyst for the popular nightly program, "Drive Time," on TVG, the interactive horse racing network. In 1998, in one of his most memorable -- and fun -- forays outside the world of horse racing, the Bronx, New York, native took over for the late Hall of Fame broadcaster, Chris Schenkel, as play-by-play announcer for CBS Sports' network coverage of the Pro Bowlers Tour. Seibel has been honored with harness racing's Dan Patch media award and the Allen J. Finkelson award, with his body of work in the industry over the years earning him induction into the Communicator's Corner of the harness racing Hall of Fame in 2011. Progress!!!! [[Starships]] [03:30]
Bettys ride this morning, she was quite distracted due to the multiple things going on outside the arena including a white dog, two gray horses playing in a round pen and a white horse having a lesson in the back (she dose not like white animals, silly mare). She is still under 30 rides, so I am very proud of her progress thus-far. ALSO we had our first jumping lesson a week ago and jumped up to 2'6"!! also went on our first trail ride and open field gallop and she could not have been better, so proud of my brave little mare! I do not own the music used in this video, it is being used for entertainment purposes ONLY.
