Barrel Racing Bones [01:57]
Sheza Fastime Dalye, aka Bones—2002 AQHA mare. Clips are from 2008 and 2009. Runs are shown in no particular chronological order. A few of the patterns included in this video were good enough to place her in the top four of the 1D of NBHA jackpots out of about 100 entries. Bones injured her left front leg in May of 09, tearing her deep digital flexor tendon in three places. Twelve months and $4000 of treatment later, Im still not sure if shell return to the barrel racing arena. Fingers crossed that I get to enjoy this mares talents in the future. Included are the Paul Simon / Simon&Garfunkel songs "Hearts and Bones," for which the mare was named, as well as "Bridge Over Troubled Water," for its memorable line, "Sail on Silvergirl...." Indeed, Silvergirl, sail on by....

Some runs on Charger at large 6D's, jackpots, and rodeos (amature and WPRA/PRCA). Indoor pens, outdor pens, large patterns (18 sec), small patterns (14 sec), good ground, deep ground, hard ground, etc. I won money in the 1D (at the 6d's) and placed in the top 5 (at the rodeos) at all these places in the video. Even if her run is not perfect she is so fast she can still place!

In this session I'm teaching Felisha the Send Through exercise. Horses are naturally claustraphopic to tight places places. Its an inborn instinct to keep them safe from predators. This exercise helps them gain confidence and will help you teach a horse to load in that scarry horse eating trailer. You start this exercise 20 feet or so from the rail and slowly move closer as your horse gains confidence until you are about 4 feet from the rail. Its important that your horse has learned to give you 2 eyes before you do this exercise.
