Sr. Champ Flathead Onboard 8/18/12 - Poughkeepsie / Feature Race [04:52]
Onboard footage of the Sr. Champ Flathead Feature Race from Poughkeepsie Raceway in New York. I started on pole for the Feature Race and led evey single lap to win the race. There was only one caution in the race. I finally have won at a place, other than Route 106. I want to thank Kevin in the #62 kart for loaning us the black restrictor plate and helping us with set-up on the kart. I also finally got Tomoya, Nagisa and Ushio a victory and they were very proud of me. All in all, it was worth the 4 hour trip going to Poughkeepsie Raceway and gather some data for next year when we return for WKA Divisional and Super Regional races occuring there.

A pending storm caused some disruption at the start of the race but, once it was underway, Williams settled midfield as planned, with favourite Helmet and Underwood Stakes winner Lion Tamer setting the early tempo. Pinker Pinker dropped back towards the tail of the field with some 800 metres to go but began to move forward from the 600 metres, with Williams content to bide his time on the inside, waiting for an opening. Sticking to the rails, Pinker Pinker was right on the heels of the leaders rounding the turn and when Jimmy Choux got the better of Helmet near the 200 metres, Williams, who had enjoyed a perfect rails run, set out after the new leader. "A run just came for me on the fence, so I took it," he said.
