Dawn Run (1978--1986) was a Thoroughbred racehorse (Deep Run - Twilight Slave) who was the most successful racemare in the history of National Hunt racing. She won the Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham racing festival in 1984 and the Cheltenham Gold Cup over fences at the festival in 1986. Dawn Run was the only racehorse to complete the Champion Hurdle - Gold Cup double. She was one of only two mares who won the Champion Hurdle, and of only four who have won the Cheltenham Gold Cup. She was also the only horse ever to complete the English, Irish and French Champion Hurdle treble. Here she is winning the 1986 Cheltenham Gold Cup.

***I OWN/CLAIM NOTHING*** A little, wimpy ole' video to celebrate 84 subscribers. :D I fiddled around with a bunch of different songs/formats for a video and then threw this together today. For some reason the radio I listen to has been playing this song a lot lately and it's quite catchy. ;) And I know of course a lot of people love Zenyatta (duh xD) so I used her. Enjoy! :)

Goldikova's quest for a Mile three-peat was largely overshadowed at this year's Breeders' Cup by Zenyatta's bid for her third Breeders' Cup win and a chance to cap an unbeaten career with her 20th victory without a defeat in the Breeders' Cup Classic (G1). But Goldikova dazzled on center stage in the Mile with a powerfully rally to victory that cemented her legacy as one of racing's all-time greats. "She's the best [racemare] in the world," Goldikova's jockey, Olivier Peslier said after the race. "Now, it's Zenyatta's turn." Some of the build-up leading up to the Breeders' Cup World Championships dealt with Goldikova's trainer, Freddie Head, saying in October that his mare was more accomplished than Zenyatta, who came up a heart-breaking head short to Blame in the Classic. Goldikova, however, took care of business in the $1818000 TVG Breeders' Cup Mile and she received thunderous applause from the crowd at Churchill Downs. Goldikova had won the Mile in 2008 and '09 both at the Oak Tree meeting at Santa Anita Park. "This is very emotional for me—being the first jockey to win two races [aboard Miesque] and now training this mare to win three times, it's something you can't even dream of," Head said.
