Strollers Sixth Race [05:34]
Probably spelling him now. Jockey said the horse never gave him anything. He didn't jump well, tended to hang in and just wasn't in the race. He's in a black cap, barrier 6 and you can see the poor start he gets. Not sure what's wrong with him, he wasn't blowing afterwards, but it's his worst race yet and a spell might help him.
Standardbred Canada Video Feature - Movie Stars [02:54]
The sport of harness racing is full of heart-warming and gut-wrenching stories undiscovered by filmmakers. On any given day you can count on a roller-coaster ride of emotions, high-speed action, and personalities big enough for the silver screen. With many of Hollywood's biggest and brightest stars making headlines at this week's Toronto International Film Festival, Standardbred Canada has asked trainers and drivers to weigh in on which actor they would choose to play themselves if a film were made about their lives in this week's video feature.
Strollers fifth race [05:04]
OK initially a bit disappointing but there was crazy speed on early. Stroller jumped well again but the inside horses weren't going away and some of the outside horses were hammering it. The jockey decided to back off and the horse was running 3 wide in the second pack of four. Just after the turn he starts to shake him up but the horse on his outside is keeping up with him (with a couple of taps of the whip). Then he runs into/gets run into the horse in front, who was also running 3 wide but in the first pack. There's not much more than 3-400 metres left and the jockey said he couldn't get him going again. He definitely doesn't ride him out and I can't see him use the whip on him at any stage.
Stroller's fourth race [05:09]
The horse was very late to the barriers due to saddle problems. He didn't parade and the other horses were at the barrier as he was still getting his saddle adjusted. Jockey said that he didn't want to use him up too early but going around the turn he got pushed wide by another horse (Man of Stealth I think). Jockey said the horse doesn't jump well, we corrected him on that, and then he said that he doesn't get into stride quick enough. Jockey said that just after the start it felt like the horse was running down hill. We think the horse didn't like the type of saddle used by the jockey which requires a very tight girth as it has no breast collar. This restricted the horse and was uncomfortable which is why he felt like he was running down hill. For some reason the jockey seems to punch the horse on the rump whilst in the barriers (at 38 seconds) Maybe the horse was leaning?
