Cape Blanco - 2011 Joe Hirsch Turf Classic Invitational (G1) [02:57]
Odds-on favorite Cape Blanco narrowly retained his unbeaten record in the United States, holding off longshot Dean's Kitten to take the 35th running of the Grade 1, $500000 Joe Hirsch Turf Classic on "Super Saturday" at Belmont Park. A well-traveled 4-year-old, Cape Blanco shadowed Mission Approved in second placed through fractions of 52.42, 1:19.37, 1:44.92 and was put to a drive by jockey Jamie Spencer after dispatching the pacesetter midway on the second turn. The favorite took a clear lead into the stretch but was tested to the wire by Dean's Kitten, whose rally fell a nose short. Trained by Aidan O'Brien, Cape Blanco completed 1 ½ miles on yielding turf in 2:36.61 and returned $3.20 for a $2 win wager as the 3-5 favorite.

It's Tricky - TVG Coaching Club American Oaks (G1) [02:08]
It's Tricky wore down Plum Pretty in an exhilarating stretch battle on Saturday at Saratoga Race Course to take the 95th renewal of the Grade 1, $250000 TVG Coaching Club American Oaks for 3-year-old fillies. Trying 1 1/8 miles for the second in her career, It's Tricky tugged at jockey Eddie Castro as she raced outside horses in second, shadowing pacesetter and Kentucky Oaks winner Plum Pretty through fractions of 23.88 and 47.55. The top two began to sneak away from their opponents on the far turn, and they moved in tandem until It's Tricky gained the upper hand with a sixteenth to travel en route to a three-quarter length triumph.
