Jockey Jesus Castanon hugs his horse Shackleford (about :20 seconds in) after winning the G2 Churchill Stakes at Churchill Downs on the Derby Day undercard 5/5/2012. They won the Preakness in 2011. The second place finisher was Amazombie, ridden by Mike Smith (in the white and black striped silks.) Amazombie won the Breeders' Cup sprint last year and was the 2011 Eclipse Sprint Champion.

Horses warming up on backstretch for 2012 Kentucky Derby (including I'll Have Another) [01:59]
Horses in the 2012 Kentucky Derby warm up on the backstretch near the second turn at Churchill Downs, just before the race. The last horse, #19 (jockey in white silks with a purple band across) is the eventual winner, I'll Have Another. This was filmed through the window of the track kitchen, which was a little dirty, but an excellent spot to see horses up close and relax in air conditioning after walking around in the heat all day.

She is in Barn 39 at Belmont Park in Elmont, NY in Joe Lostritto's tack room in order to show what equipment is needed before a rider is allowed to exercise a Thoroughbred race horse on the track. She also explains how to coordinate an exercise rider's clothing with the stable for which they will be exercising Thoroughbred race horses on the track.
