Rachel Alexandra and her colt's first steps! [00:35]
Rachel Alexandra, 2009 Horse of the Year, gave birth yesterday to a 125 pound colt by 2007 and 2008 Horse of the Year, Curlin who stands at Lane's End Farm. The bay colt was born at 2:40 pm on Stonestreet Farm near Lexington, Kentucky. He took his first steps an hour and an half later. Emblazoned with a white star, the alert colt bears a striking resemblance to his mother. Stonestreet Farm manager Gary Megibben reports all is well with both mare and foal and that, "Rachel is a natural mother, and took to the colt immediately." This is 2009 HOY winner Rachel Alexandra's first foal and is to be bred to Bernardini in 2012. I DO NOT OWN THIS VIDEO! ALL RIGHTS GO TO STONESTREET FARM!

Civics Java Classic [09:08]
The Civics - Java Classic horse shown here is a three year old thoroughbred gelding. He has been gifted to me and this video was made to show his breeder where he now lives. Hopefully he will follow in the footsteps of Captain Court and develop into a high class racehorse. Captain Court is the bold chestnut horse with the white half blaze on his nose. The other two horses are a Masterclass gelding who never won a race and a chestnut mare by Moon Spirit (in the bright blue cover) who is not moving freely due to a recent bad bout of laminitis. The property is in Avondale, Auckland City, New Zealand. It is 10km from the city centre. The person you see and hear on the video is my next door neighbour Rick who helps me look after my horses.
