1983 dewhurst stakes el gran senor [02:31]
el gran senor as a 2yo winning the 1983 dewhurst from rainbow quest who later went on to win the arc (in the stewards room). el gran senor always travelled so well in his races and had a great turn of foot but as soon as he hit the front he seemed to think he'd done enough, one of the best 2000 guineas winners ever seen, went on to be 2nd in the 84 epsom derby, maybe should have won it, and then won the irish derby.

Well, he did what he had to do. He answered all the questions." He also answered the question posed this week by D. Wayne Lukas, the trainer of Tabasco Cat, who said: "Look at Holy Bull's record under a microscope. Who was second when he won the Dwyer? Nobody can tell you." Maybe not, but Croll could tell you who ran third behind Holy Bull today, and he said dryly, "Wayne better get a new microscope." This was an adventure for Holy Bull, the ...
