Abandoned Grand National 1993 BBC Highlights Horse Racing [13:07]
This is the Grand National horse race from Saturday 3rd April 1993. The race was 'run' around 4pm that day, but had to be abandoned as after a second false start some riders did not actually realise this and took their horses around the entire course! This clip is from 'Match of the Day The Road to Wembley' aired that evening (also on the programme was the Sheff Utd vs Sheff Wed FA Cup Semi-Final highlights). The Grand National is an annual event held at Aintree Racecourse near Liverpool, but in 1993 it was declared void.
