Monksfield- The 1978 Champion Hurdle (Cheltenham) [01:13]
Monksfield (1972-1989) was an Irish-trained National Hunt racehorse who won the Champion Hurdle in 1978 and 1979. Monksfield was six years old when jockey Tommy Kinane rode the horse to victory at the 1978 Cheltenham Champion Cup. Monksfield was trained by Des McDonogh and owned by Dr Michael Mangan.
