Rodeo Memories on the Ground - [2012 Henry County Rodeo] [04:29]
My son and I decided to go film the 2012 Henry County Rodeo in Georgia with our Sony FS700 slow motion camera. Every time we hit record we learn. ========================================================= PLEASE PROVIDE FEEDBACK... GOOD OR BAD ... IT'S HOW I LEARN TO BE A BETTER FILMMAKER :) ========================================================= Our goals for the video shoot was as follows: 1. To further test out the 240 and 480FPS camera options to create some unique slow motion. 2. To practice focus pulling on live action. (Having hard focus stops with my new follow focus really helped set the fence boundaries on the arena and then pull focus between them) 3. My son needed more time behind the Canon 5D he is still learning the art. 4. Work with footage ramping in post to continue to use the new slow motion in new and exciting ways. We had a blast very nice cloud cover to create some good lighting for the day, we lucked out. We meet some great people who travel all around the southeast doing rodeos, real down to earth good Americans! Thanks for putting on a great show! The announcer called my son out during the show over the loud speakers. "What is this world coming to when you have a 5 year old running around with $4000 worth of camera gear!" LOL it was pretty funny. Everything was shot in 240 or 480FPS except 24FPS on Canon 5D. Graded with: PP6 settings with Colorista and Looks Grading in Post I added a film grain to the whole piece to give it a gritty feel, thoughts ...

1995 Sword Dancer Invitational Handicap [02:58]
Kiri's Clown, a 6-year-old horse who likes to come busting out of the gate to take the lead and try to hold it, came busting out today and did hold it. And by the length of his neck, against a late rush by Awad, he scored a resounding upset to win the $250000 Sword Dancer Invitational on the Saratoga turf. Not only that, but he broke Fraise's track record of 1992 by two-fifths of a second, running the mile and a half on the inner turf course in 2:252/5 . He also broke the losing streak of his trainer, Phil Johnson, who hadn't saddled a winner in New York State in 68 races going back to April. In between, though, Kiri's Clown traveled to New England in June and won the New Hampshire Sweepstakes. Kiri's Clown gave his latest performance only five days after running seventh in the Daryl's Joy Handicap. Johnson explained in the winner's circle that his horse would rather race every five days than work out every five days. "If you have a good work horse," he said, "you don't do the Daryl's Joy. But he doesn't work very well, and sometimes horses lose interest working." Johnson and his jockey, Mike Luzzi, planned on having the early lead; the only question was whether they would hold it. "We thought we would get the lead," Luzzi said, "but I didn't think we would get it the way he did. Basically, my horse was just galloping along. He got challenged at the three-eighths pole, and then when Awad came to him, he just got real game." When Awad came to him, they had only a few ...
