In light of the recent announcement from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, that it plans to end the province-wide Slots at Racetracks program in March 2013, a series of videos were created to illustrate the wide range of people who will be dramatically affected by this decision. Breeding Manager Jason LaMarche-Hunderup of King Township is like many of the more than 60000 people involved directly or indirectly with horse racing in Ontario, individuals that make up the heartbeat of Ontario's vital and valuable industry. Finance Minister Dwight Duncan has been falsely referring to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Slots at Racetrack revenue sharing program as a subsidy. His claim is that the Government has been providing a $345 million annual subsidy to Ontario's Horse Racing Industry. In a recent fundraising email to supporters, the Ontario Liberal Party suggested that they are "choosing to support our youngest learners over wealthy race track owners". According to OLG's financial statements, the Government of Ontario is receiving $1.1 billion per year from the Slots at Racetracks Program. The horse racing industry, which has made space available to OLG slots and allowed competition between the slots and horse racing at their facilities, receives only 20% of the revenue from the slots. Kyra is a full sister to the international show jumping stallion Ivar and mother to the international show jumping horse Otto (s. Peter Pan) who jumped at 1.50m international level with Guy Williams. Lomond (foaled 1980 in Kentucky) was an Irish Thoroughbred racehorse best known for winning the 1983 Classic 2000 Guineas Stakes. He was sired by Northern Dancer, the most successful sire of the 20th Century, whom the National Thoroughbred Racing Association calls "one of the most influential sires in Thoroughbred history." Jockey Pat Eddery rode Lomond to victory at the 2000 Guineas stakes under the training of Vincent O'Brien. The horse was owned by Robert Sangster and its time on the day was 1;43.87

El Gran Senor (1981--2006) was an American-bred Thoroughbred race horse, foaled at Windfields Farm in Maryland. An outstanding two-year-old who won European classics over a mile and over 12 furlongs, El Gran Senor received a Timeform rated 136. He also enjoyed notable success at stud, had been pensioned at Ashford Stud in Kentucky since 2000, and was 25 years old when he died on October 18, 2006. here is El Gran Senor winning the 1984 2000 Guineas Stakes at Newmarket. The jockey on the day was Pat Eddery. El Gran Senor was trained by Vincent O'Brien and owned by Robert Sangster.
