Unsaddling after the Big Race at Belmont Park [01:00]
Here is a quick shot of Our Lake and Ludlow coming back from his first race. All the horses (except for the lucky winner who is headed to the Winner's Circle!) come back and meet their handlers. The Jockey dismounts and takes his tack and equipment with him to the scales to weigh in. He must weigh in with the same weight he was carrying before the race. After he weighs in then we approach him and get the needed feedback about the race and the horse's trip. In this case Jamie "the Rocket" Rodriguez was very excited about the way L&L ran. He said he was closing nicely at the end but got a bit tired. This may have been due to the very gooey yielding turf. He said next time we will see a great improvement because in his words "this horse is very competitive". That is great news to hear from the Jockey after a first race!

Rachel Alexandra vs Zenyatta - Clash of the Titans [01:30]
Im aware that it is the wrong time for such a video, because their match up in April wont happen, but i was in desperate search for a topic for a really short video - since i wanted to make some size experiments - and this was the only one coming to my mind at the moment. Maybe one day we will see them clash. Btw, named RA first in the title simply because she is reigning Horse of the Year. So, nothing special about the video, but maybe about the music. I used the music from the Clash of the Titans Trailer, but it is of course not the exact same music as in the trailer (since the dialog and the fighting noises would interrupt). I used some parts of the original 3 and a half minutes long instrumental version of The Bird and the Worm from The Used and edited them in a way that it sounds similar to the Trailer version. Some parts are different though (especially in the end). And sadly, the quality is not the same as in the original trailer (the music there sounds a lot heavier). A note: The size experiment wasnt satisfying. Ill have to make other short vids with new setups. middle of the 2D, 17.2. A good improvment from the last race there whitch was a 17.4. Next weekend there is another at the same place so we will see what happens... ... NBHA barrel racing horse 7/11/09
