The first Group 1 of the year for older horses in Ireland typically attracted just a handful of runners, but we were treated to a superb performance from one of the top older horses currently in training; the pace was just fair. SO YOU THINK (NZ) produced a hugely impressive performance to gain his first Group 1 win in the Northern Hemisphere (sixth in total), without needing to improve on his previous form, taking over from his pacemaker early in the straight and powering clear for just hands and heels; stiffer tasks lie ahead, with the Prince of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot reportedly next on his agenda, but it will take something really special to lower his colours, especially at this trip, with races like the Coral Eclipse and Juddmonte International looking like obvious targets at this stage, though it has to be said he wasn't stopping at the finish here, so a step up to 1½m and a potential clash with Workforce remains a distinct possibility. CAMPANOLOGIST (USA) was well placed to win a pair of German Group 1s last year and may have to go on his travels again if he is to add to his tally, this improved effort still some way short of the standard normally required to win one of these races in Britain or Ireland, simply no match for the winner having been on that one's quarters turning for home.
