The place to be to watch spectacular live horse racing action in Colorado is the Arapahoe Park Race Track in Aurora. Even though the track did close down for a time, it reopened its doors in the year 1992 and has grown into the venue of choice for a variety of horse racing meetings. Visitors to the track will be able to enjoy Arabian dashes, thoroughbred horse racing, appaloosa events and quarter horses going through their paces. Events that have become very popular at the Arapahoe Park Race Track include the Silver Cup Futurity, Western Stakes Futurity, Cobra Challenge, Colorado Derby and the CTBA Breeders’ Oaks.
All racing falls under the jurisdiction of the Colorado Horse Racing Association, which promotes horse racing, assists breeders, trainers and owners, protects the interests of the public, and ensures that rules and relations are adhered to by working closely with jockeys, race track staff and other members of the horse racing community.
