New Hampshire Racetracks

Organizations such as the New Hampshire Racing and Charitable Gaming Commission and the New Hampshire Quarter Horse Association oversee all horse related events and competitions in New Hampshire. Promoting the sport and ensuring that events are fair and compliant to the rules and regulations, means racing enthusiasts can enjoy exciting days filled with live horse racing action.

Located in Salem, the Rockingham Park Horse Racing Track is the only horse racing facility in New Hampshire, and has had its fair share of struggles to survive. Its legacy began in 1906 when a massive thoroughbred horse racing event, which lasted for twenty-one days, was held at the track. Closures and re-openings because of legalization issues plagued Rockingham Park for years, and it is now a facility that only hosts harness racing events. Thoroughbred horse racing fell away, but the live harness racing meetings, simulcast events and entertainment for the entire family still lures the crowds in their thousands.
