2010 St Leger Festival

The Ladbrokes St Leger Festival is an event that horse racing enthusiasts in Britain look forward to the most, as it is filled with festivity, fashion and unbeatable live horse racing action. With Doncaster Racecourse as the host of the four day festival, visitors are guaranteed to experience only the best in hospitality, facilities and activities. This year the St Leger Festival will be held from the 8th of September 2010 to the 11th of September 2010. For first times visitors, there are a host of racing events to make a note of.

Opening day of the St Leger Festival is referred to as Yorkshire Day. Seven races are scheduled for the day, including The Scarbrough Stakes, The Arena Structures Nursery Handicap Stakes, The Wilson Field Neurocare Conditions Stakes and the Launch Stratstone Land Rover Doncaster Handicap Stakes. The third day of racing is Ladies Day. This day is synonymous with style, flair and fashion, where the ladies of the races have the opportunity to show off their designer clothing and latest fashion accessories. A judging panel cast their votes throughout the day, with wonderful prizes available for the winning lady. Another seven racing events will be available on Ladies Day, with the DFS Park Hill Stakes, Japan Racing Association Sceptre Stakes and Meadowhall Fashionista Handicap Stakes, to name a few, completing a day of celebration and fun.

St Legers Day closes the festival with events such as the Eddie Stobart Park Stakes, the Doncaster Premier Inn and Table Handicap Stakes, the Neptune Investment Management Champagne Stakes and the premier event, which is the Ladbrokes St Leger Stakes. This is a Grade I event for fillies and colts that are three years of age, and was established in 1776. It is also the last race in the English Triple Crown, which consists of the 1000 Guineas and Oaks, the 2000 Guineas and Derby and the St Leger Stakes. Hospitality tents, friendly staff and non-stop flat horse racing action waits at the 2010 St. Leger Festival, and everyone is invited to join in the festivities. It is a weekend that should not be missed out on, as it has everything a horse racing enthusiast could want, namely glamour, style and racing.
