Quinte Exhibition and Raceway in Canada

Established in 1821, the Quinte Exhibition and Raceway has been the centre for community fairs and events for nearly two centuries. This great racetrack continues to serve both the city of Belleville and its surrounding areas and it not only hosts great harness racing, but is also the site of a number of agricultural fairs. The track and fair grounds are run by the committee members of the Belleville Agricultural Society and so the Quinte Exhibition and Raceway is run as a non-profit organization.

The Quinte Exhibition & Raceway is situated on Yeoman Street in Belleville, Ontario. Races take place on a half-mile harness racing track with a speed rating of 2:03.4. The live racing generally takes place every Friday night during racing season and on holiday Monday, while simulcast racing is available every day of the week. This great combination continues to draw spectators and gamblers to the track on a regular basis. In turn, the profit made from these events goes into maintenance, wages, levies and purses which helps the track to stay open and in good running order.

One major event is the Belleville Exhibition which is held every Labour Day weekend. The weekend extends from Thursday to Monday to provide the longest opening time possible and during this time the festivities of the exhibition are combined with the thrill of live harness racing to ensure an action-packed and fun-filled weekend. People flock from all over the region to display their goods, trade their livestock and enjoy the races. A lot of new horses are seen at the track and the usual races are given an injection of life. If you would like to come to the Belleville Quinte Exhibition & Raceway, try to do so during the Exhibition which takes place near the end of September each year.
